nest is an interior design and architecture magazine edited by Joseph Holtzman. While no longer in print, the visual language of each issue continues to delight and inspire. The challenge was to redesign one issue of the magazine for a contemporary audience, while maintaining the spirit of the original.
The theme of this issue is “scallops”. From the original aesthetic and article content, we focused on femininity and maximalism. We played with repeating visual elements, typography, and bright pastel colours to create a feeling of excitement and whimsy.
